MotoLock tiles can withstand heavy traffic and are resistant to abrasion, impact and the penetration of liquids - including oils, solvents, acids etc.

MotoLock tiles are designed to take high compression loads, like those found in materials movements operations in workshops, warehouses and distribution centres while the neat finish and smooth fit makes the tiles suitable for retail spaces, playrooms, gyms, garages, utility rooms etc.

Large space applications include railway stations, airports, passenger terminals, power plants, hangars and fire stations.

Snakeskin, Diamondplate, and Cointop face patterns are available together with matching edge / corner tiles.

The tiles can be laid quickly and easily on any reasonably smooth and level concrete base creating ready-for-use, dust-free, anti-skid surfaces. No special preparation of the existing floor is required to remove blemishes like oil spatter, cracks and minor surface irregularities prior to laying the tiles.

The floor tiles are resistant to mechanical and chemical damage and tolerant of under-layer moisture.

Using interlocking tiles makes a floor easy to repair and even portable if need be.

Recycled PVC Versions

Black and Dark Grey versions of MotoLock manufactured from recycled PVC material are available at a lower price than the new PVC material tiles.

Recycled tiles have a more matt appearance than the ones made from new PVC and some colour flecks are evident from the recycled PVC (as illustrated below for the grey tile). However, design, fit and performance are the same as the standard MotoLock tile and they interlock with the new PVC MotoLock colour tiles / ramps for adding coloured edges or making floor patterns.

Available in Diamondplate or Cointop face pattern.

MotoLock Heavy Duty Tile FAQ's

Dimensions

MotoLock tiles are 495 x 495 x 7mm (see dimensions notes).

Is any special preparation required before laying the tiles?

Sweep the floor. Oil and other contaminants can be ignored except where it may be necessary to glue tiles / ramps.

Minor floor irregularities can be ignored: deeper potholes will show as imprints / depressions on the tile but won't damage it. Either fill these potholes with screed before laying tiles or do it after - lifting individual tiles affected by floor irregularities, filling holes and refitting tiles.

Any Special Tools Needed?

A rubber hammer (which we can supply) can make laying the floor easier but otherwise standard DIY tools you probably already own are all you need.

Are Ahesives Needed?

Generally tiles are laid without using adhesives, however, tiles subject to very high twisting forces should be glued down (eg sections of a floor where a fork- lift turns corners).

How can I finish the floor edges?

Leave a 5mm gap along walls and fit MotoLock edge ramps to the entrance.

Can damaged tiles be replaced?

Yes - one of the advantages of interlocking tiles is easy tile replacement or swapping.

Is the floor slippery?

The floor has a nice sheen when clean but it is designed and rated (see Properties table below) to be highly non-slip.

Does water get trapped under the tiles?

The interlock stops most water penetration. Any water that does gets under the tile will evaporate due to the Air-Flow anti-moisture system, where the design on the tile underside allows the floor to 'breathe'. The design of the prevents accumulation of water

Are the tiles resistant to oils and chemicals?

The tiles are resistant to most oils and acids but a tile sample should be tested if this is a critical requirement.
(See Properties table below).

Is the floor flammable?

The floor is classed as difficult-to-ignite due to its chemical composition.

Do the tiles insulate?

The tiles act as thermal and acoustic insulation.

Any special maintenance needed?

A mop, bucket and mild detergent are all you need for light cleaning. For heavier cleaning use standard non-abrasive, non-slip, non-solvent based products.
